Band Member Biographies

Kylee Rinker: Kylee is a junior this year at Fossil Ridge. She has loved working on this project throughout her time in Mr. Hanauer’s class. Previous to this project, she had almost no musical knowledge, but thanks to this class she not only knows how to play the guitar (ish), but she has written and worked on various songs. That is something that she never thought she would be able to do, but this class has changed everything.

Alexandre Shappell: Alexandre is a 17 year old entrepreneur with a passion for film-making and public speaking. This project has been an awesome way for him to do what he loves and improve his skills as a cinematographer and editor through making a documentary. He's also been able to get back to playing guitar, something that he used to do a few years ago and enjoys. He looks forward to using his experience from this project in his future ventures.

Corey Tesdahl: Corey is currently a junior at Fossil Ridge High School. He has played piano for 8 years, and this project helped bring back some of the great memories of making music. He worked on writing and recording the bands final song.Corey enjoyed the process of creative songwriting during class time, and it has helped him better articulate writing into speaking.

Alli Konstantinov: Alli is a junior at Fossil Ridge. The only previous musical experience she has is playing guitar for two years. When being reintroduced to it, she found it to be quite enjoyable. Alli had never composed lyrics before, and struggled with it. She thinks that it taught her a lot more about the creative process. Overall, she enjoyed this project, and found it to be very unique from English assignments in the past.

“Thanks to this class I not only know how to play the guitar(more or less), I have written and worked on various songs. That is something that I never thought I would be able to do, but this class has changed that for me.” - Kylee Rinker

“It incorporated lots of cooperation between group members and different groups to make a big final project come together.” - Corey Tesdahl

“I never expected to learn what I’ve learned in this class. I had the chance to collaborate with many different people in music, art, and writing. The experience as a whole was fun, especially learning to play guitar.” - Alli Konstantinov

Final Song:Community Health

Single mother, pain in her eyes
Another ocmin’, but nowhere to hide
From the cost of supporting a child she can’t afford
Eyes closed, head down, goes for the door

Then over the horizon the sun comes out
The gates of freedom have opened helping those in need

Community Health has got it goin on
Giving people help who need it the most
Community Health, has got it going on
Providing for people, got nothing to boast

Job lost, nowhere to go
Can't even help herself, let alone a child
Can’t even afford a bicycle helmet for herself
What is this, what kind of world is this

Then over the horizon the sun comes out
The gates of freedom have opened helping those in need

Community Health has got it goin on
Giving people help who need it the most
Community Health, has got it going on
Providing for people, got nothing to boast

Things are better, she’s looking up
To the sky and wondering why
The programs at Community Health are great
Poverty and poor health can just go wait

Then over the horizon the sun comes out
The gates of freedom have opened helping those in need

Community Health has got it goin on
Giving people help who need it the most
Community Health, has got it going on
Providing for people, got nothing to boast

Community Health has got it goin on
Giving people help who need it the most
Community Health, has got it going on
Providing for people, got nothing to boast
